Machakos governor Alfred Mutua is a man who needs no introduction.

Mutua was raised in Kibera slums. The second-time was born in Makina before the family moved to the slums. His early life was not easy. He recalls sleeping with foods because the parents could not afford to provide three meals per day. In a past interview, Mutua said that he has a sister named Ann. However, little is known about him. 

“I have a sister called Ann. I was born in Machakos, but I grew up in Makina area, Kibera slums in Nairobi; my parents were poor civil servants,” started the governor.

The former government spokesperson has been very vocal on matters of national interest. He has insisted that he cannot sit back and watch Kenyans suffer. 

Mutua is among the candidates who have already declared their interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta upon his retirement.

 The vocal governor has been pushing for equity in the distribution of national cake. 

He has been on the forefront in the call for lifestyle audit. He believes transparency is the only way to realize development in this nation. Take it or leave it Mutua is a man of the people.
