Duale says that the threats by some MPs are 'empty' and hold no water.

The Garissa lawmaker said that Muturi cannot be impeached for doing his work as the National Assembly Speaker.

He said that the MPs who opposed the VAT proposal  should accept the outcome of the vote.

'It is laughable to hear some MPs threaten to impeach Speaker Muturi, let them bring the motion and they will see what happens," he said on Thursday.

Duale said that losers should accept having lost fairly instead of issuing empty threats.

The Garissa MP maintained that the Finance Bill will not hurt Kenyans.

He accused some MPs of politicising the Bill and using it to gain popularity.

A section of MPs shouted down Speaker Muturi during the voting on the VAT on Thursday.

The lawmakers were heard shouting Muturi must go!

Muturi must go!.

The voting on the VAT was halted several times as some MPs became unruly and chaotic.

Some MPs moved out of the Chambers in protest against the VAT.

However, the VAT was passed after the MPs in the Chambers failed to reach 233, a number that would have seen the proposal rejected.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to sign the Finance Bill into law before he leaves for  New York on official duties on Friday.
