Harambee Stars' striker Michael Olunga has reacted to the team's 2-0 loss to Algeria in their first match of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Kenya, who had been out of the competition since 2004 (15 years ago), played their first match of the continental tournament on Sunday night in Cairo, Egypt.

However, the team displayed a dismay performance in the first half, costing them the entire three points. 

In the second half, Harambee Stars improved but were unable to score any goals. 

Reacting to the defeat, Olunga noted that it was painful losing to Algeria, but he won't give up.

"Emotions still raw that we couldn't win the battle against a worthy opponent. In the end ,we heard to learn the hard way. But, I WILL NOT GIVE UP and will fight till the end. Thank you for the support GOD ABOVE ALL," he said.

Harambee Stars will play their next match on Thursday against Taifa Stars of Tanzania.

The match against Tanzania is so crucial for Harambee Stars, as it will determine their fate in the tournament
