Claims that Kisii County Governor James Ongwae on Friday suspended the youthful Sports Minister Duke Mainga has elicited mixed reactions among Kisii residents.
The residents while speaking in Kisii town on Saturday said Ongwae should not dare suspend the minister.
"We are hoping the claims are untrue and there is no plan by Ongwae and his deputy Joash Maangi to suspect Mainga. Should be claims be true business will not be as usual in Kisii," said Raphael Ondicho.
Amos Mauti protested the claims saying Ongwae's actions are calling for demonstrations.
"As youths, we will not sit and watch Ongwae kicking out Mainga. Any plan to kick out Mainga should be stopped," he said.
Vincent Monari appealed to Ongwae to consider working with the youths failure to which he will be in trouble for the years he has left to leave office.
"Ongwae should give youths a priority or else he faces hard times in his remaining time. Mainga should be in office to stay because he has been performing well since he was appointed," he stated.
However, Mainga has since refuted the claims saying he is not aware of any suspension.
