Wamuchomba vowed to lead demonstrations on the streets against the governor if the investigative bodies don't take firm action.

"If the DPP and the DCI don't do anything, we will go to the streets with those who voted to protest and we will say enough is enough. We will ask Waititu where is our money, " Wamuchomba raged.

"Sometimes you think somebody moves to the other side because their loyalty is there. No, it is for the shade. He goes there to get protection, " Nyoro said.

Waititu faces allegations of engaging in corruption.

Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) raided the governor's residences on Thursday in a bid to gather evidence.

The embattled governor has strongly maintained his innocence, saying that corruption allegations are being peddled by his political adversaries.

He was released on Thursday after being held in police custody for some hours. Waititu also faces tax evasion and irregular award of tenders charges.

He has not denied that he owns properties in Nairobi County.
