Kenya is the only team that staged a comeback after going down first in the entire Total 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

This was revealed on Saturday by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the continent's football governing body, in an Instagram post.

The comeback was executed during the Harambee Stars second match against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania at the 30, June Stadium.

Kenya came down from 1-0 to win 3-2 in a fixture that was rich in entertainment.

It is the only match that Kenya won.

Two of the goals were scored by Kashiwa Reysol's Michael Olunga.

It lost 2-0 and 3-0 to Algeria and Senegal respectively.

Those two teams that Harambee Stars lost to went to the final which was played on Friday at the Cairo International Stadium.

The Desert Foxes of Algeria won 1-0, scoring within three minutes of the game, leaving the Lions of Teranga of Senegal to chase the game but to know avail.

Kenya participated in the continental showpiece for the first time in 15 years under the stewardship of head coach Sebastian Migne.

In the history of the tournament, Harambee Stars has never proceeded beyond the group stage.
