Speaking during an interview with KTN’s Point Blank on Wednesday, Kabogo said that they refused to back Amani National Congress (ANC) Leader Musalia Mudavadi for the Presidency because that was not the position of The National Alliance (TNA) Party.

Kabogo admits that he was not happy with Deputy William Ruto after it emerged that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s position had been taken but Ruto retained his.

“Well we said no because that was not the position of TNA then. It was a side negotiation. I believe President Kenyatta was put under immense pressure by interested parties of groups and I thought myself being a friend. I needed to speak to him to understand why he took that position and so I called a couple of guy we were not so many about four of us. We went to his house and stayed there for a very long time.

“Finally we managed to get to see him and we spent there probably about 14 or 15 hours talking to him. I remember also mheshimiwa Ruto came in and I was so upset with him because they had given out Kenyatta’s candidacy but retain his as a Deputy President,”he said in part.

Kabogo also said that it took long discussion to agree on the candidate for the seat. Mudavadi later choose to contest for the Presidency but he lost.
