Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday held a meeting with Uganda President Yoweri Museveni. The meeting took place at State House in Entebbe.

Ruto was in Uganda to receive the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award.

During the meeting, Ruto was accompanied by his son and several Kenyan leaders including governors. 

Earlier in the day, Ruto held a meeting with the Ugandan private sector at Kampala's Serena Hotel.

The two leaders discussed a number of issues including collaboration in trade, agriculture and capital investments.

"Kenya and Uganda enjoy cordial relations and share mutual interests. We are the largest recipients of Uganda products within the East African Community and our companies are the biggest investors."Our continued collaboration will result in new, diversified income streams and strengthen the two countries economies," Ruto stated.

After the meeting, the two leaders later launched a 150-kilometre Kapchorwa - Suam Road.

"The construction of trans-boundary infrastructure is key to regional integration, attracting investors and enabling access to emerging markets."The road will enhance connectivity, stimulate economic activity and ease movement of people,good and services," the DP added.
