Gor Mahia was on Saturday crowned the champions of SportPesa Premier League at the end of their league match against Posta Ranger at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Many leaders have since been sending congratulatory messages to K’Ogalo, among them former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Deputy President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
In his message, the ODM leader Raila Odinga tweeted: "Congratulations FC Gor Mahia on being presented with the trophy in Machakos crowning your achievement as the league champions for a record 18th time. We wish you all the best !!!,."
DP Ruto on his part said the team deserved the trophy following excellent and entertaining performance they have been showing all throughout.
"Hearty congratulations to FC Gor Mahia for being crowned the Kenya Premier League Champions. K'Ogalo's win is richly deserved, coming on the back of gusty, entertaining and riveting performances," Ruto tweeted.
"Hongera Gor Mahia for being crowned the 2018-2019 SportPesa Premier League Champions yet again. We are now looking forward for a good performance as you start early preparations to represent Kenya in the continental champions league," said Sonko also in a tweet.
