Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua on Wednesday sought Orange Democratic Movement (ODM ) leader Raila Odinga's advice in relation to his 2022 presidential ambitions.

Mutua paid a courtesy call to Raila at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi. 

"2022 ELECTIONS, COALITIONS AND MORE I asked for his advice and shared with him my serious plans to run for the presidency in 2022. We discussed several scenarios & agreed on political generational change in any society and that I am capable of running this country's affairs," said Mutua in a tweet after the meeting.

The two leaders further discussed various issues of national importance including the war against corruption, the Building Bridges Initiative as well as the famous March 9, 2018 handshake among other matters.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader has on various occasions declared his interest to vie for the presidency in the upcoming 2022 polls. 

The opposition chief, on the other hand, has remained silent on whether he will seek to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 or not. 

Raila has in the recent past been working with President Uhuru in attaining his Big Four agenda. The two leaders buried the hatchet after last year's truce, promising to work together for the sake of peace and unity in the country.
