Issuing a statement via their official social media page, the National Police Service disclosed that some individuals might be mobilising attacks against some communities.

Among the areas placed on high alert include Modogashe, Skanska, Janju, Bulo, Eldere and other market centers in the volatile Garissa-Isiolo border.

"The National Police Service wishes to warn that it has received information to the effect that some individuals could be mobilising bandits to stage attacks against some communities living along the Isiolo/Garissa border targeting Modogashe, Skanska, Janju, Bulo, Eldere and other market centers in the area. We, therefore, wish to warn that those found mobilizing or inciting communities to fight will face the full force of the law," the statement reads in part.

The police service added that it was treating the security situation in the neighboring Wajir county as a matter of urgency, noting that nobody would be spared if found to have incited the warring clans.

"Equally, we wish to note that similar measures are being taken in respect of the recent upsurge of violence in parts of Wajir county involving two sub-clans. No one irrespective of their status in the society, will be spared should they be found to be responsible for inciting violence," the statement further indicated.
