Somber mood engulfed Aboke area, Gem sub-county on Tuesday as popular Luo Ohangla musician Abeny Jachiga’s dancer was laid to rest at her home in Siaya County.

23-year-old Vivian Awuor was buried yesterday at her home next to Madeya shopping center, a funeral that brought together a number of Ohangla lovers and artists. 

Awuor who lived near a stream at Silanga area in Kibera, Nairobi, succumbed to flash floods which followed a heavy downpour. 

The flash floods washed away her house after a nearby river broke its banks.

Her boss Abeny Jachiga eulogized her as a great dancer who always ensured the show gets lively every time. 

Her fellow dancer 'Nyasuba Dancer' eulogized Awuor as a teacher who knew how to train her when it comes to peculiar moves.

“You are my sister, my mommy, my workmate, my best friend. Aki Avian ang'o motimore????? Ni nani atanifundisha kuchapisha kiuno?????? Eeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! Aki kifo kilitokea wapi?????Vivian why mapema hivo?” she posed.

The deceased has left behind two kids.
