Mr. Robert Nyaribo passed away at Nyamira County Referral Hospital on Friday morning after a long struggle with illness.

The ODM deputy governor moved to India for treatment in August after being in charge of the county for three months in absence of his boss John Nyagarama, who was also in US for treatment.

Sources within the county hospital intimate that Mr. Robert Nyaribo was admitted in the facility this month after long spell at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi.

The news about his passing on circulated on social media with locals sympathizing with the India condemned county boss.

"It's with great sympathy I pass my condolences to the family of deputy governor Amos Nyaribo following the loss of his brother," wrote US based Kenyan politician Fred Machana.

Former KUPPET Secretary General Sam Omosa said: " May the Lord condole with the DG's family during this trying moments."

Last month, due to illness, Nyaribo was also unable to attend his uncle's funeral at Magwagwa, who had died in a fire tragedy.

Nyaribo is at loggerheads with Governor John Nyagarama over power sharing in the county government based on this pre-election arrangement.
