Mr Robert Mochache, who sits in the County Public Service Board of Nyamira is said to have engaged bitterly with Kefa Mocheche, a former Personal Assistant to Nyagarama, who now works as Deputy Chief of Staff.

Mr Mocheche is said to have asked the magistrate to allow his driver to drop him at the governor's residences, a request which was declined by Mochache.

The two engaged in fierce exchanges with Mocheche reportedly threatening to repossess the vehicle over what he termed as misuse. On Thursday, the driver to the vehicle, one Wycliffe Okari, was temporarily arrested.

"The vehicle is being misused and that is why we ordered it back. It's not being used for intended purposes. Usually, it's parked outside bars contrary to the code of conduct," Mochache defended himself after reports emerged that he he'd ordered for the arrest of the driver.

A source who happened to witness the scuffle said the two officials nearly exchanged blows with the appointment of Municipality Manager Jackson Mogusu also resurfacing.

He said: "It was a very heated exchange. They hurled all sorts of insults against each other. We even thought they would fight. The chief of staff was heard accusing the magistrate of incompetence."

The vehicle in question was surrendered on Thursday before the driver was released from Nyamira police station where he had spent over six hours behind bars.
