Speaking on KTN on Sunday evening, Sakaja faulted Orengo's role as Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong's legal representative in the ongoing graft case against the county boss.

Ojaamong' was recently arrested and arraigned in court over alleged graft involvements in the county and is also facing claims of misuse of public office and conspiracy to defraud the county.

Sakaja opposed Orengo for siding with the Governor, terming it unhealthy on his Senate leadership slot, adding that the same is a challenge to the Senate which is the constitutional oversight body for the Governors.

"As senators, we are disgusted with Orengo and are wondering what to do with him as despite being a leader in the Senate, he is defending a Governor indicted in corruption," said the Senator.

He noted that Orengo is set for a huge challenge should Ojaamong's current peace be disrupted, in the event that the Busia County Assembly pass a motion of impeachment against the Governor.

"I am wondering how he will conduct himself should Ojaamong' be impeached and the case forwarded to the Senate for consideration," he wondered.

Ojaamong' was released on a 1 million shilling cash bail on Friday, July 6, after pleading not guilty to the charges.
