In his latest attacks against the Maendeleo Chap Chap governor, Muthama said Mutua’s political era is coming to an end soon.

Addressing the press in Kangundo town on Monday, Muthama asked Mutua to prepare for the ballot following his election nullification by the Court of Appeal last month.

Muthama said the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader's appeal in the Supreme Court will not save him.

“The Machakos 2017 gubernatorial election was a sham and everyone including Mutua knows it. He should get ready for the ballot and also prepare for the political exit,” Muthama said.

He said Machakos residents have no confidence in the former government spokesman's leadership.

“Mutua has been deceiving and playing with Machakos people's minds and should prepare for political exit,” Muthama added.

Muthama and Mutua are not seeing eye to eye and have often engaged in ugly political spats.

Last month, the Court of Appeal nullified Mutua’s election on grounds that it was not free and fair.

The court ordered for fresh gubernatorial poll in conformity with the law.

Mutua appealed the court of appeal ruling in the Supreme Court that is now pending hearing and determination.

Political pundits argue that Mutua is walking on a tight political  rope and could be easily send packing should the Supreme Court uphold court of appeal ruling that ordered for fresh gubernatorial poll in Machakos.
