The radio presenter who has been working with the Standard Media Group for eight years broke the news on one of his social media handles.

"It's been 8 awesome years and I will miss Radio Maisha. I will always remember 'kuanzia' the first day when we launched this radio station during my first show. It's been a good ride! Let me say a huge ahsante to the entire team of Radio Maisha and the Standard Media Group," the message read.

He further went ahead and thanked the people he has so far worked with at Radio Maisha.

"All the radio presenters I've worked with 'kuanzia' kwa Esther Ingolo, Mshamba, Jalas, Nick Odhiambo and now Captain Otos. You guys are simply the best! The rest of the team, I wish you all the best and may God bless you all abundantly. I will miss you all so much," Alex Mwakideu wrote on his social media.

This is not a surprise as most of the media stations have been poaching journalists from their competitors.

Citizen TV poached NTV’s Nimrod Taabu, Rashid Abdalla, and Jamila Mohammed. They also took in KTN's Mashirima Kapombe and Joe Ageyo.

NTV, on the other hand, poached Citizen Tv's Willis Raburu and Salim Swaleh.

The Kenyan media industry has grown forcing the media companies to fight for control of the audience.
