This follows a recent surprise tour of Governor Mike Sonko to the facility where he discovered 12 bodies of infants stuffed in plastic bags and boxes.

Speaking on Radio Citizen Wednesday morning, Sakaja faulted Sonko for condemning the hospital management over the same, adding that his move to suspend some of them was uncalled for.

He bashed the governor for allegedly politicising the issue, wondering why his government is yet to establish a morgue at the facility to prevent such.

‘’Iweje anayefaa kusuluhisha mambo kama haya ndiye anayeleta shida zaidi? Kaunti iwache kucheza na maisha ya wananchi maana Gavana mwenyewe anajua hakuna mochari Pumwani. (The governor is aware that the facility has no morgue to keep the dead bodies. He should, therefore, stop politicizing this issue and complaining over his own failure),’’ said Sakaja.

He further urged the governor to better healthcare in other sectors to enable Nairobi residents get better services when need arises.

‘’Tuache vitimbi vingi. Gavana ako na pesa, mbona asitumie bilioni mbili kuwapa wakaazi bima? (We should do away with these actions and ensure better healthcare for his subjects),’’ he added.

The Monday expose has since resulted to an outcry from doctors, with medics around Nairobi threatening to protest in solidarity with their suspended counterparts.
