In an interview with France 24 TV, Uhuru insists that peace is part of his legacy and that the two leaders are indispensable in his journey to restore order and thwart violence in future elections.

“I am excited in the manner in which we are coming together as leaders and people to deal with those issues. With these efforts, we will enter an election cycle that will not be violent,” he said.

Last year, at least 34 people were killed following protests that erupted after the disputed polls, an incident which Uhuru says he 'regrets'.

Already, Uhuru is believed to have played a critical role in appointment of Raila Odinga as AU High Representative for Infrastructural Development, further promising to find Kalonzo another role.

“Every leader has something he can do, a contribution he can make. When we work together, we will achieve much for our people. Let us stop divisive politics and work towards developing our nation,” the President said during the funeral.https://mobile.nation.co.ke/news/politics/Peace-will-be-my-legacy--Uhuru-says-in-interview/3126390-4848908-item-1-11g391v/index.html

On Monday, Kalonzo accompanied Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Monica  Juma to South Sudan to deliver Uhuru's message, an indication that he may have also been appointed peace ambassador.

The president also reiterated that the two along with their footsoldiers will help him win the war against tribalism and corruption which will cement his legacy.
