According to a source, a third-year student in JKUAT who happened to be Bera’s friend, the 25-year-old lived a troubled life.

Before trying to sneak into State House to attack President Uhuru Kenyatta with a knife as he had foreseen in his dreams, Bera had believed that Kenya is a rotten country.

He had always believed that if at any time he will get intimate with a lady, then that lady should be from Ethiopia.

According to the source, Bera believed that it was only in Ethiopia where virgin girls are, thus he would only marry a lady from there.

“Bera claims he is a religious purist, believing should he get intimate with a woman, then the woman must be a virgin – and that, to him, there is a lot of immorality in Kenya. He, therefore, says it is only in Ethiopia where he can get virgin women to marry. That is why he refers to himself as The Prince of Ethiopia,” said the source.

Bera appeared mentally unfit during his attempted entry into State House. He was shot on the shoulder and he is receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital manned by security personnel.

According to Kilimani sub-county Police Commander Michael Muchiri, Bera who was booked at Kilimani Police Station before being taken to the hospital will be mentally assessed to determine if he is okay.
