Mobile service provider Safaricom on Friday awarded one of its customers with a house in the ongoing M-Pesa promotion dubbed Maisha ni M-PESA Tu.
James Njagi, a Gikomba market trader, won one of the seven apartments that are up for grabs in the Sh300 million promotion.Njagi was accompanied by his wife, daughter and fellow traders when he received the key to the apartment located in Kahawa West.Njagi revealed that he uses Safaricom’s M-Pesa services often, noting that could be the main reason why he won the apartment.“My frequent usage has contributed to my earning of multiple entries in the ongoing promotion. However, it was quite a surprise when I received the call from Safaricom that I had won the apartment,” said Njagi, as quoted by the Standard.More than 150,000 M-Pesa agents across the country and about 27 million customers are taking part in the promotion which is expected to run for the next six weeks.In addition to the six remaining apartments that are there for the taking, customers and agents also stand a chance of winning daily and weekly prizes.
