Taking to his twitter account on Monday, Miguna

"My condolences to the family of Comrade (David) Onyango Oloo. I have just now received information this moment, 6.03am, Toronto time. I hold the criminal state of Kenya responsible for his suffering and death. May God rest his soul in peace," said Miguna.

According to Prof Larry Gumbe, a close friend to Mr Oloo, he passed away on Sunday night while being taken to Yala Hospital.

He will be remembered as a great activist and a founder of the Jukwaa political blog.

Mr Oloo and Mr Miguna were close friends. Recently, Miguna honored him by giving him fifteen copies of his book, Treason.

He too had written a number of books which include; "Political Economy of ethnic identities in Kenya," "Kenya: Setting the agenda for 2012," and "ICC Kenya Ruling: Deep democratic shift and blow to impunity," among others.

Many people have since confused him with Kisumu Speaker Onyango Oloo. Both dropped their Christian names while in activism.

Kisumu speaker dropped George while the activist dropped David to both become Onyango Oloo
