Former Kakamega Senator Dr.Bony Khalwale has cast his doubt's on the ability of the Supreme Court of Kenya to determine election petitions.
He cited the recent squabbles that have seen rifts over the gubernatorial election petition judgments.
Taking it to Twitter on Monday afternoon, the Ford Kenya Deputy party leader said he had no intended reasons to cast aspersions on the supreme court but granted the rulings it has made of late, especially on gubernatorial election, he stated that the supreme court is not solid to determine such cases.
"I would have absolutely no reason to cast aspersions on our Supreme Court," tweeted Khalwale
"But granted its rulings on petition cases concerning the election of governors, one could be forgiven if one asked; “Is our Supreme Court sufficiently solid to superintend on gubernatorial election disputes?” he posed.
The Supreme Court has come over heavy criticism from the public and the media with the way it has been adjudicating cases with lots of questions raised over the integrity of the Supreme Court judges.
The recent ruling by the Supreme Court to uphold the elections of the Wajir County governor which saw Chief Justice Maraga dissent.
The ruling has seen senior counsels in a spat of words over the legality of the Wajir Governor based on his academic credentials which have been questioned ever since.
