Flamboyant politician Don Bosco Gichana Ooga is set to be released on Tuesday at a Tsh300 Million (approx Sh10M) fine after years of being Imprisoned without trial in Tanzania for 5 years.
He was a major financier to ODM Party in 2007, he even bought Raila Odinga a Hammer
Gichana will be released by a Tanzania Court after he pleaded guilty to money laundering charges.
Local leaders welcomed the release of Mr Gichana.
Samuel Omwando, an ODM politician in Kisii said justice has been done to their son.
"I am happy that Mr Gichana will come back home after spending years behind bars," he said.
Mr Omwando lauded NASA leader Raila Odinga for initiating talks with Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli to have Mr Gichana released.
"We must thank ODM party leader for being behind Mr Gichana's release," he said.
A Jubilee politician Steve Arika asked Kenyans to help Mr Gichana raise the fine.
"We need to team up and ensure the Sh15 million the court fined Mr Gichana is contributed. This is the justice we have been waiting for. It has finally come," he said.
Benjamin Kirera, a trader in Kisii town vowed to mobilise business people to contribute and ensure Mr Gichana's fine is paid and he returns home.
