For almost five weeks now, Obado has been a guest of the state after being linked to the death of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno and unborn baby in September.

Defense team led by retired Judge Nicholus Ombija has put a spirited fight to have the second term governor freed on claims that he was not directly named as prime suspect of the gruesome murder.

Justice Jessie Lessit is expected to make a ruling whether Mr. Obado will be freed on bail or not, after reviewing submissions from the defense and prosecution.

But before that, Lessit will rule whether FIDA will be enjoined in the case, a matter that could see the defense team know whether there will be a second interested party.

And thereafter, Lessit will rule whether argument submitted by the prosecution and counsel representing the family, in which bail application was rubbished, holds water.

Should the ruling go in Obado's favour, the Migori County boss will have opportunity to coordinate his defense team from outside prison besides managing affairs of his county.

And if the worse happens, Obado will continue being behind bars, a move that could put his seat in danger since MCAs could come with impeachment motion or even a citizen can move to court to have his deputy taking over.

Prosecution argued that should Mr. Obado be granted bail, he will use his influence and connection as governor to compromise investigations.

Also on focus are his aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero, who were jointly charged with him. The judge will rule on their bail application.

Sharon, whom Obado admitted having had an affair with, was buried at her grandfather's home in Magare village on Friday.
