The lawmaker has been hyping the narrative about vying for the top seat in the much-awaited race and now states that he is very serious about it.

In a race likely to see him battle with among others, Deputy President William Ruto, Kuria claimed that he is currently among the frontrunners.

He added that he is the first candidate to announce his bid, as opposed to Ruto who has been calling upon Kenyans to shun politicking and await the right time.

"Ruto had not announced his bid publicly. I am the first one to do so," he said on Milele FM's Kivumbi Show on Thursday morning.

He said that his announcement has been very beneficial as he is already on the ripping end and is already attracting support from voters who are continuously embracing him.

Kuria claimed that he already has enough support and is only working on the additional vote to propel himself to the top seat with ease.

"I already have the 50 per cent of the votes. What I am now working on is the additional one per cent," he said.

He vowed to improve the economy and make Kenya a happy nation if he succeeds in his presidential bid.
