A boda boda rider in Miranga village Bomariba sub location Kisii County has gone into hiding after he allegedly impregnated a class 7 pupil.
According to the area assistant chief Benjamin Ayuma, the rider identified as Charles Nyaming'a has gone underground after he was tipped that he was being pursued.
"The girl's mother reported to my office on Tuesday morning that the rider has impregnated her daughter who is in class 7. Immediately I ordered Nyumba Kumi officials led by Ong'ang'a Osoro to search for the suspect but the suspect noticed he was being pursued, he parked his motorbike at Kasarani shopping center and disappeared to unknown place," said the local administrator.
He said the motorbike has been kept as security until the rider surrenders to the authorities.
"I have kept his motorbike in my office until he surrenders. The law is clear that school girls must be respected and given humble time to complete school. i will pursue this case to ensure no one takes advantage of minors by luring them with money to have sex with them," he noted.
He called on members of the public to volunteer information to authorities once the suspect is spotted in the village.
