Coming only days after Governor Mike Sonko discovered 12 bodies of infants stuffed in polythene bags and boxes at the facility, Sakaja now claims that the same are most likely being used to fool new mothers that their infants have passed away.

Speaking on Radio Citizen Wednesday morning, the lawmaker noted that he has reports that some mothers have ended up believing that their infants died during the process after being switched with dead bodies.

‘’Kinachoendelea pumwani ni ulanguzi wa watoto. Watu wanabadilishiwa watoto na kupewa waliofariki (mothers are having their babies taken away and replaced with dead ones in an ongoing child trafficking trend at the facility),’’ he claimed.

The babies, he further alleged, are either sold or fraudulently offered for adoption both nationally and internationally.

He added that he has received reports implicating  some very rich persons whose fortune can be directly traced to the alleged trade.

‘’Kuna mabwanyenye niko na ripoti kuwahusu. Watoto wengine wanauzwa na wengine kupeanwa kwa adoption (there are some very rich persons at the middle of this trade  which sees some children given out for adoption),’’ he added.
