Speaking on Friday during a burial of Bishop Emeritus of PEFA Samuel Mwatha Kang’ethe in Kandara, Kalonzo said that the differences between the two leaders have escalated.

The former Vice President noted that there is a need for the two leaders to bury their political differences with immediate effect for the sake of the growth of this economy.

He expressed concerns that Ruto and Raila have continued to fire salvos at each other over the recent past.

Kalonzo promised to mediate in the talks between the two to ensure they are united for the common good of this nation. He also reminded them that campaigns are three years away and there is no need to continue engaging in a bitter exchange of words.

Raila and Ruto have been hitting headlines following the alleged loss of Sh21 billion in the dams’ project. The two are considered the possible successors of President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.

The handshake between Uhuru and Raila changed the political temperatures of the nation and the union of the two has continued to cause jitters in the DP’s camp ahead of the next poll.
