Mr Samuel Okemwa, a lead activist based in Minneapolis, said Mrs Nancy Omweri should consider apologising to local musicians for demeaning them without a clear reason.

Trouble started when Ms Omweri ruled out giving opportunity to local musicians and comedians to grace Gusii Sevens, arguing that they ought to be subjected to thorough vetting.

"We must have auditions first so that we pick the best. Most of these artists are below average. They must be subjected to thorough scrutiny before presenting," Omweri said.

But Mr Okemwa has rebuked the veteran Egesa FM presenter and radio head, accusing her of being antagonistic and unrealistic. He insists that Ms Omweri ought to apologise.

"People like Nancy Omweri should apologize for demeaning youthful talents. She boldly says they are poor yet she plays their music the whole day. This is absurdity at it's best," he argued.

He added: "I have heard her presenting with Sorobi Moturi, the best Mcee, she hosts the show with Getena, a good comedian. Why then say they are bad? I think something has gone wrong with her."

The musicians were meant to perform at Kisii School concurrently with Gusii Sevens Rugby tournament but local musicians boycotted. Ms Omweri is yet to respond to the allegations.
