National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has predicted that the 2022 presidential race will be a contest between two major persons, and not more.
Speaking on Tuesday, the outspoken leader said that the race will be between Deputy President William Ruto, and former Prime Minister and Orange party boss Raila Odinga.
He declared that he will be placing his money on Ruto, whose bid is already in the public domain while Raila remains silent on his intentions for the much awaited contests.
"I can tell you for free. The presidential contest in 2022 will be between 2 people- William Ruto and Raila Odinga. I will be backing William Ruto," said Duale on Citizen TV's News Night.
He claimed that the others who have also declared interest in the top position will not be of any consequence, likening them to donkeys while Raila and Ruto will be horses.
"In every election there are jokers. In 2022, it will be a 2-horse race. The rest are donkeys," added the staunch Ruto supporter.
Among the leaders who have since declared interest in joining tjenrace to succeed the outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta is Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
Also in the list is Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
