Millicent Kithinji, a former Procurement and Logistics student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is reportedly dead after she allegedly committed suicide.

Kithinji had on Thursday sought for forgiveness from her daughter and father through Facebook posts for what she was about to do.

This is however not the first time the former JKUAT student was posting mysterious messages on her Facebook timeline. Previous posts indicated that she was under depression.

“Check on your friends. Ask them about their day or even if they have eaten anything. People are silently battling depression and afraid of being judged, misunderstood and avoided,” reads one of Kithinji’s Facebook posts.

Wanjiku Murage Mucheru, her former school mate at JKUAT approached her privately and inquired what she was going through. Kithinji revealed to her how life had become hard after she lost her job almost immediately after giving birth and her husband’s business begun deteriorating.

“But when I gave birth I lost my job. I remained in the house as he went out for jobs. I reached a point when his bis went down and sustaining us became a problem. We could not afford to pay for the house and feed on the little he earned,” Kithinji opened up.

Many of her friends have taken to her Facebook timeline to offer condolences and help to the bereaved family.
