Present were members of the family of the late freedom fighter who gave his final bow in January 1994 led by his first born son and East African Legislative Assembly (EALA)lawmaker Oburu Oginga.

Political leaders present include Gem lawmaker Elisha Odhiambo, his Alego Usonga counterpart Samuel Atandi and Ruaraka parliamentarian TJ Kajwang'.

The two-day function was postponed to February due to what the family initially termed as unavoidable reasons, as it was supposed to be held in January.

Jaramogi who died in Kisumu's Aga Khan Hospital 25 years ago after developing breathing complications was at the time an opposition figure and Member of Parliament for Bondo.
