In an interview with NTV, the veteran trade unionist said only President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga supercede his influence among Kenyans.

His claims potrayed his unending rivalry with Deputy President William Ruto, who he has in the past claimed that will not make it to presidential ballot in 2022.

Constitutionally, President Uhuru Kenyatta is the top most in the pecking order, followed by DP William Ruto, a factor Mr Atwoli didn't adhere to.

"After President Uhuru Kenyatta, it is Raila Odinga and then Francis Atwoli, nobody else, if you see any other person, they are donkeys. You can carry out your own research!” he said.

Throughout his speeches, Atwoli had often questioned DP Ruto's wealth, claiming that he should be subjected to investigations to prove the origin.

And he claimed that throughout his 52 years in service, he only owns two vehicles, 17 children and 26 cows which he said can be accounted for if need be.

“I have a Mercedes Benz, I have a Prado, you can go and check from Toyota how I acquired that Prado everything I have, you can,” Atwoli said.

"My father told me there is no shortcut to leadership and no shortcut to riches. If you acquire riches through shortcuts we will see you coming down,” he added.
