The drama that is the sugar report saga took a new twist Tuesday as Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa named the CS on whose behalf Wajir Women Rep Fatuma Gedi was allegedly acting.
Barasa set the cat upon the pigeons by claiming that the Wajir legislator was acting on behalf of Trade and Industry CS Adan Mohamed who was adversely mentioned in the explosive sugar report.
"I have said that Fatuma Gedi came with ten thousand shillings so that I can help shoot down the sugar report. She did that on behalf of CS Adan Mohamed," Didmus fired as he maintained that he would not issue an apology to Fatuma Gedi.
Fatuma maintains that she never offered to bribe any MP on behalf of anyone.
The explosive sugar report had been prepared by a parliamentary committee chaired by Kieni MP Kanini Kega.
These fresh claims add another layer to what is proving to be a fast-paced melodrama.
