In the song, Turacco urged voters from Central Kenya not to support Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

The musician argued that DP Ruto should not expect any favour from Mt Kenya voters in the 2022 general election just because he supported  President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2013 and 2017 elections.

The song elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans, and even caught the attention of DP Ruto, who responded by saying no one owes him anything.

“I know there has been a debate of who owes who what. But I want to remind leaders that in Romans 13:8, it says that owe no man nothing except the debt of love for one another. No person or community in Kenya owes anybody anything including myself, the only thing we owe ourselves is the debt of love,” said the DP.

A section of Kiambu politicians also condemned the song, arguing it was sponsored to sabotage Ruto's 2022 bid.

"There are powerful politicians and top civil servants out there to sabotage William Ruto's 2022 bid. It is a cartel of haters who created the debt narrative and sponsored the artist to come up with the song," said Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa.

In his new song "Muici ni muici" which loosely translates to: "A thief is a thief", Turacco reveals what happened to him after the "Hatuna Deni" song went viral.

Turacco compares himself to Uhuru who last week revealed he had lost many friends due to his stand against impunity in the country.

"Uhuru Kenyatta, just like you, I have lost many friends and have been insulted ever since I announced that we don’t owe anyone a debt," says Turacco in the song

In the song, the artist encourages the President to fight impunity and corruption in the country without fear or favour.
