The lawmaker accused President Uhuru for forcing Kenyans to pay more on fuel.

"It is sad that Uhuru is imposing the 8 per cent VAT fuel tax after he failed to sign the Finance Bill, 2018," he said.

The vocal MP said on Thursday, Uhuru should expect resistance from MPs when his proposal on fuel tax will be tabled before the house.

"We were elected to represent the people and not President Uhuru Kenyatta's interests. His new proposal will not sail through in Parliament on Thursday," he said.

He urged elected leaders across the Gusii region to stand firm and ensure they oppose the new proposal on fuel tax.

"We must ensure there is zero per cent on taxation of fuel because poor Kenyans are being subjected to a big burden by the Jubilee government," he added.
