A gloomy cloud engulfed a village in Ruiru Tuesday afternoon as residents buried an entire family.
The family of three, father, mother and son, were killed along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway by a reckless driver.
Their car was hit after the driver attempted to overtake carelessly. Mother and son died on the spot.
The father died in hospital.“An entire family has been wiped out. We had buried their daughter less than two months ago. We are too hurt,” a resident said.
The family’s daughter had also fallen ill a few months after graduation and died.
Kinungi, where the accident occurred is a notorious black spot.
Some residents, however, said the way the family perished ‘is mysterious’.
“There must have been someone behind these deaths. Their daughter had just died, then all the three perished. That is not normal in any way, there must be some sort of thing behind this,” Julia Murugi, a resident, told this writer.
Preachers at the burial, however, said people ‘should not ask God any questions over the deaths’.
