The meeting was revealed in a tweet on Saturday on the office of the DPP Twitter handle.

How to build the capacities of prosecutors and investigators formed part of their sprawling agenda.

"...DPP said these when he met Brazil's Prosecutor General, Raquel Elias. They agreed to build the capacities of investigators and prosecutors," the tweet read.

In his presentation, the Kenyan prosecutor noted that crime was changing and becoming even more sophisticated, saying that there was a need for a change in approach on how to deal with it.

He also said that Kenya would adopt systems adopted by Brazil to deal with corruption in public institutions.

"DPP Noordin Haji has said his office will adopt Brazil's Simba System, a software that will enhance #ComplexCrimes_Prosecution. DPP said the software will enable exchange of financial records between financial institutions & government agencies handling criminal cases. DPP noted that organized crimes e.g corruption & terrorism get complex by the day, hence, calling for advanced approaches to handle them," read the tweets.

Haji is in Brazil on a bench-marking trip in a bid to learn the best practices in the war on crime.

His trip comes amid a raging war on corruption and high profile crime in Kenya that has seen public figures arrested and arraigned in court.

It also comes in the wake of a court case over the alleged murder of Dutch business tycoon Tob Cohen.

The anti-corruption crusade appears to have gained new steam in President Uhuru Kenyatta's second term as he strives to secure his legacy.
