Political analyst Ambrose Weda has laughed off Baringo Senator Gideon Moi’s latest political moves which saw him tour parts of Western Kenya last weekend.

During the visit that saw him preside over several fundraisers in Kakamega County on Saturday and Sunday, Moi hinted at vying for the presidency in the approaching 2022 general elections.

But in an interview on KBC English Service’s ‘The Big Conversation’ Wednesday morning, Weda argued that Moi’s ambitions do not hold water, and is most likely being pushed by hidden hands.

He claimed that the same could be a reunion of the families of former Presidents Daniel Moi and Jomo Kenyatta, as they seek to elevate one of their own, in a plan which apparently also includes Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi.

‘’Moi is being pushed by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a bid to return a hand of gratitude to retired President Moi who groomed him to the presidency. This he is doing through Gideon Moi,’’ said Weda.

The inclusion of Mudavadi, said Weda, points at a reunion of political dynasties in an attempt to ensure that power des not drip out.

During the visit, a section of Western Kenya leaders drummed support for a union between the two leaders, terming the combination unbeatable.

However, according to Weda, the combination, should it come to pass, will be defeated by Deputy President William Ruto, another anticipated presidential candidate.

‘’Nothing will come out of that alliance,’’ he added.
