In an interview on KBC English Service’s ‘The Big Conversation’ Wednesday morning, Weda noted that Ruto will emerge on top of all the other politicians who have since hinted at participating in the race.

He claimed that the only person who can complicate Ruto’s clear path is opposition leader Raila Odinga who, he said, remains a big factor in the contest.

‘’Ruto will whitewash all these other candidates in 2022. Only one person can stop him and that is Raila Odinga. He will win big unless Raila is a presidential candidate,’’ said Weda who doubles up as an advocate of the High Court.

Raila who was recently picked as the new African Union Infrastructure Development representative is expected to take his fifth shot at the top seat ahead of his apparently looming retirement.

He has, however, remained silent on his 2022 plans, urging Kenyans and politicians to shelve politicking and concentrate on national development.

Politicians who have hinted at joining the race to succeed the outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta include Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.

Others are Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
