The leaders led by Victor Swanya, a Nyamira-based politician said other leaders who are spreading hatred should learn from the two leaders.

“No one imagined that Raila [and] Ruto can meet at the burial and put their political differences aside and speak in one voice. I was happy seeing Raila-Ruto sharing a podium at the burial of Mr. Obwocha,” he said.

Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said it is because of the historic handshake that there were no political fires at the burial of the former minister.

“Ruto and Raila met and we didn’t see them differing politically. I attribute this to the historic handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta. Locals leaders should consider dropping their differences to work together,” he noted.

West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi said those opposed to the handshake should consider accepting it since top leaders in the country have accepted it.

“Political leaders and those Kenyans who are not happy to the handshake between Raila-Uhuru should be happy. The country has moved on and it is time we serve the electorate,” he noted.

The DP in his speech urged political losers during the last year’s polls to give humble time to those who won to serve the electorate.
