The Kisumu Central parliamentary hopeful was arrested and detained in Kisumu over the Sh2.5 billion Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) mall scandal.

This is after investigations revealed that the mall construction budget was inflated, allegedly with his knowledge and blessings, when he was a top official in the LBDA board.

But Miguna says  that through the former ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta appears to have lost his way, he was a good fellow during their days at Onjiko Secondary School in Kisumu county.

He says that Oloo's behaviour only began going south when he joined the faculty if law at the University of Nairobi, but was otherwise a vibrant man back in highschool.

"During my glorious days at Onjiko Secondary School, George Onyango Oloo was a loyal member of both the Debating and Historical and Current Affairs Clubs that I chaired. Regretably, we lost him to the cartels after he joined the @uonbi faculty of law," he tweeted on Saturday.

According to Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji, Oloo was given Sh17 million, apartments and shops by Elderman Properties to allow it inflate the budget.

The mall which is yet to be opened years after the completion of the construction has been under probe by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) since 2015.
