Siaya Senator James Orengo is headed for a hard job ahead and will be among the most observed politicians in the approaching 2022 general polls.

Orengo is likely to be pressured by his constituents to go for the gubernatorial seat upon the retirement of current county chief Cornel Rasanga, having made his way into their hearts.

The leader enjoys so much support from the region and the entire Nyanza region as well, as a result of his closeness to area political don Raila Odinga and his large involvement in the former Prime Minister's 2017 presidential bid.

This could as well see him adopted by the people as their new kingpin, with every indication showing that Raila could be on his way out due to old age and repetitive presidential losses.

Should Raila stay put, 2022 will mark Orengo's transition from a simple politician to the Luo political point man, as Raila is most likely to pick him and slowly mould him into his successor, considering that no one in Odinga's family is currently in sight to take over the throne.

Also, whichever position he goes for in the race, the super Lawyer must be prepared for a stiff competition as despite being popular and the most likely to win, there will always be an opposition.

Finally, should he vie and win in the gubernatorial race, he must be ready to shelve his legal job for some time, as the county boss job demands a lot of time and he will be completely absorbed into his new responsibly as a county head.
