In an interview on Radio Citizen's Jambo Kenya Thursday morning, Kabogo observed that Uhuru will have a very minimal effect on how the Mt Kenya region votes in the polls.

He advised that expecting him to tilt the votes to Ruto's favour might fail.

He also urged the DP to ignore area politicians who have been accompanying him in his weekly national tours, reminding him that they each have a single vote and cannot decide on behalf of the remaining millions of voters.

"Let him not be fooled that Uhuru or other area leaders will deliver the Mt Kenya vote to him in 2022. The people know who they will vote and are very unlikely to be shepherded into where to vote," he noted.

He said that Ruto's only saviour will be his leadership skills, manifesto and track record.

According to him  the DP will have to work hard and impress the voters, after which the votes will automatically follow him.

"Let him work for the people and the votes will come, but being told that so and so will give him the votes is a big lie," added the ex-county boss.

Ruto has since declared his presidential bid in the race and is only awaiting the time.
