The probe on alleged assassination plot against Deputy President William Ruto by the DCI George Kinoti will be the turning point for Kenya, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said.

While admitting that he initiated the process, Mr Kuria denied being part of the meeting in which assassination of DP Ruto was discussed by a host of leaders from Mt Kenya as claimed by Ruto.

“This whole meeting of La Mada including the choice of the hotel, I’m the one who initiated it because I am the coordinator of development in our region. Let us believe the investigative agencies are going to tell us the truth. Once they give us the truth it’ll be a turning point for this country,” said Mr Kuria.

Trade and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, Health boss Sicilly Kariuki, Joe Mucheru of ICT and James Macharia of Transport have been dragged to the plot.

But the four along with three Principal Secretaries have denied the claims. They now want Dr Ruto to launch an official complaint before they record statements.

“They have confirmed to us that the DP made a call and complained that some Cabinet secretaries and some other Government officers have been meeting at La Mada and gave us a specific date of May 14, and that (in the) meeting there were plans that were being hatched to kill him."

“These are very serious allegations especially coming from a person of the stature of a DP occupying an extremely powerful and important office in the land. I would expect somebody in that office to do a proper investigation before making unsubstantiated and wild allegations of that nature,” he said.
