Mourners were left in tears as her two kids watched helplessly as the remains of their mother were buried in a ceremony that was attended by hundreds of her fans.

Nyambura, popularly known by her stage name Mukinduri or Mukish, died last week while undergoing treatment for meningitis at Maragua District Hospital.

The young celebrated actress has been battling ill health since the death of her husband last year.

The funeral was attended by prominent personalities in the film industry including veteran comedian and Kameme FM presenter Muthee Kihenjo and Gikarati.

The talented actress was a regular face in several Gikuyu films and Kihenjo comedy films.

Joseph Mbuchi, the Chief Executive Officer of Discovery Media, eulogised Nyambura as a humble and talented actress and termed her demise as a big blow to the film industry.

"We believe she will rest in that peace and sincerely condole with the family. We pray that her two kids that she left behind will lead a good fruitful life," Mbuchi said.

Kihenjo thanked all Kenyans who gave out their money to offset Nyambura's huge hospital bill and those who chipped in for her burial arrangements.
