The women who held peaceful demonstrations along the busy Moi Avenue street vowed to strip naked if EACC doesn't drop its investigations against the county boss.

According to the women, Sonko is a national leader who has extended a helping hand to all Kenyans across the nation and not just Nairobians.

They further argued that the vocal governor is being harassed because he hails from the Coast region.

"We are not happy about how Sonko is being treated. He is being harassed because he hails from the Coast region and he is still young. We are surprised he has been a governor for less than three years and he is already being harassed. If the government wants women to strip naked to show we are fed up with how our son is being harassed we will do so. We want Sonko to be allowed to perform his duties (Mheshimiwa Sonko anayofanywa hatujafurahia. Anaonyeshwa unyonge kwa sababu yeye ni Mpwani na kwa sababu yeye ni kijana mdogo. Tunashangaa kwa nini yeye hajamaliza miaka mitatu lakini anapelekwa mbio sana. Kama serikali inataka wamama wote wavue nguo wabaki uchi ndio mjue wamama wamechoka kuona kijana yao yuwateseka...tunataka Sonko aachiliwe afanye kazi)," one of the women said in a video shared by Kenyans.co.ke.

Sonko was summoned to the EACC offices at Integrity Centre in Nairobi to shed light on the self-declaration form he submitted to the anti-graft body when he was vying for governor in 2017.
