Eric Lindenberg, a 49-year-old South Africa born, residing in Kenya won the apartment in Kahawa West Estate in a draw held on Tuesday last week.

The father of two who works as an interior design consultant joined his family in Kenya six years back after what he said the country was exciting and growing fast.

"I found the country undergoing exciting times amidst fast growth and a lot of development, which saw me make the decision to join my family here in Kenya," he said as quoted by the Nation.

Like the very first winner, James Njagi, an artisan at Gikomba market, Mr. Lindenberg also linked his win to his frequent use of M-Pesa services with most of the transactions including paying bills, buying goods and paying his employees.

"From my first days, I came to prefer M-Pesa for most of my transactions as find it convenient to use my phone when paying for my fuel, shopping, making payments to other people and for booking the SGR on regular family trips to the Coast," he added.

In addition to the two apartments that have been awarded this far since the start of the promotion four weeks ago, more than 1900 M-Pesa agents and 190,000 regular M-Pesa uses have been awarded instant prizes.

Maisha ni M-Pesa Tu promotion is worth Sh300 million and  is set to run for the next five weeks.
