Speaking to members of the press on Saturday in Nakuru County, the outspoken legislator said that the meeting's agenda would be addressing issues pertaining to the impending eviction.

"We are planning to have a meeting with the cabinet secretary of Environment on Tuesday to dialogue on these matters, " the Elgeyo Marakwet senator said.

Murkomen said that it would be irresponsible to engage in acts of activism as a way of protesting against the evictions.

As responsible leaders, he said that they would be pushing for dialogue in order to share their ideas with the cabinet secretary.

The DP Ruto-backing lawmaker said that they had sought an appointment with the CS but no response had been given.

They had been waiting for a response only to hear in the media that the Ministry of Environment would go ahead with the evictions.

Mau Forest has been a touchy political issue.

The government maintains that the settlers in the forest must vacate or they will be evicted.

CS Tobiko said that the evictions will go on as planned and that there would be no compensation.
